Be a part of the Kansas City tradition half a century in the making!

Crown Center is celebrating 50 Years as home to the Mayor’s Christmas Tree with a reimagined lighting event you won’t want to miss!

Discover Cocoa and Campfires, an area to enjoy hot beverages and s’mores by the fire pits.  On the One will kick off the evening with holiday favorites, followed by a creative sharing of T’was the Night After Thanksgiving. Then, join the Mayor and guests for the countdown to light the tree.  Fireworks to follow.

Join us on Crown Center Square, at 5:30pm on Friday, November 25th, to witness the illumination of one of the largest Christmas trees in the nation!

The tree is a symbol of the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund, which is dedicated to assisting the people of Kansas City during the holiday season. Program begins at 5:30 p.m. No admission fee.

The Mayor’s Christmas Tree will shine brightly on Crown Center Square from November 25, 2022 through January 2, 2023.

After the holidays, the wood from the Mayor's Christmas Tree is made into commemorative ornaments, which are sold the following year to benefit the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund. Visit Crown Center Customer Service, Level 2 of the Crown Center Shops, to purchase your 2022 Mayor's Christmas Tree Ornament beginning November 25.
